We can reserve a car for you that will be waiting at Faro airport for you. Alternatively if you only need a car for a few days then we can organise this for you to be delivered in front your apartment in Praia da Luz.
There are many many interesting things to do and visit nearby. If you are planning to just stop, relax and sit on your private balcony or on the beach during your entire holiday then a car is probably not necessary. Here are some of the reasons why we recommend having a car when staying in Praia da Luz:
One often hears about the stunning beaches on the West Coast. See the picture below! However, you will need a car to get there.
If you want to go to Zoomarine or the Slide and Splash water park during your holiday then you'll need a means of transport!
There are many interesting things to visit nearby such as Cape St. Vincent (the very "end" of Europe), the castle and historic city of Silves or a drive up to the top of Monchique mountain to sample the best Chicken Piri Piri ever! Lisbon and Seville are both only 3 hour drive away and make interesting detours!
Praia da Luz is a small unspoilt resort. If you want to discover other villages and towns then a car is very useful.

Car Rental prices per week, tax included & Conditions
Seasons:
Low: January, February, March, November, December
Mid: April, May, June, October
High: July, August, September. Important: the demand for rental cars in the summer is very high and all cars are subject to availability.
Example: a car in group "A" costs 120 € p/week in low season, 160 € in mid season and 210 € in high season. Rentals for less than a week or non-full week rentals: prices are calculated on a "pro-rata" basis, meaning that you only pay for the days you actually rent the car for.

Insurance for Spain
Prices shown for vehicle rental do not include:
Any insurance, should the customer be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, pursuant to Portuguese law
Keys lost by the customer (approximate cost 250 Euros)
Insurance of personal belongings left inside the vehicle in the event of theft from the same, being the sole liability of the customer.
One time airport surcharge (if the vehicle is picked up or left at the airport or both).
General Conditions
Types of vehicles
All makes and models of motor vehicles on the website are for illustrative purposes only in relation to the characteristics of the car to be rented. We cannot guarantee that the make and model of vehicle chosen will be the same as shown on the website at the time of booking. We only guarantee the rental of a motor vehicle of the same range and with the same characteristics.
Drivers’ ages and driving licence
The minimum age for renting motor vehicles is 23 and the driver must have had their driving licence for more than 2 years. If the driving licence was not issued using the Latin alphabet (i.e. in Arabic, Greek, Russian or Chinese), an International Driving Permit (IDP) will be required attached to the original driving licence.
Additional drivers
All additional drivers included under this rental contract must comply with the rules mentioned in the preceding item.
Vehicle accidents
In the event of an accident, calling the authorities (112) and filling in the accident report is mandatory (whether or not the accident was the fault of the driver). Should it be proven that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, the customer shall be liable to pay all costs for damage caused to the motor vehicle.
Insurance cover
The prices shown include insurance against all risks (CDW, Super CDW, TDW).
Fuel policy
No fuel deposit is required.
Customers should return vehicles with the same quantity of fuel as when they were picked up.
Mileage policy
Unlimited mileage.
Border crossing policy
Only crossing the border between Portugal and Spain is permitted.
Payment methods
The rental contract will be made out at the reception or at the airport, depending on where you pick up the vehicle. Rental may be paid by credit card - American Express, MasterCard, Visa - debit card or cash (EUR).
Special Group Bookings (F,G,H)
To confirm a booking for special groups F, G and H, a deposit of 50% of the value of the booking will be necessary.
The deposit paid is non-returnable in the event of cancellation.
